The Anglican Provincial Team from Zambia, led by Archbishop Albert Chama, who is the head of the Anglican Church of Province of Central Africa, returned back to Zambia on Saturday disappointed, without solving the wrangle in the Anglican Diocese of the Upper Shire (Adus).
Archbishop Chama, who leads the Anglican Church in Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana, arrived in the country on Thursday last week, to resolve the issue in which some members of the church are demanding the resignation of Bishop Brighton Vita Malasa.
Our sources have told us that despite the Archbishop communicating about his visit, Malasa responded to the Archbishop, through a letter dated October 10, that they will not be available for the meeting unless the agendas for the meeting were revealed in advance.
Christians in Adus have been demanding the resignation of Malasa citing misuse of powers, making unilateral decisions when transferring the clergy, mismanagement of funds and the church.
