Illovo hikes price of Sugar to Mk1,500

Information reaching this publication indicates that Illovo Sugar Malawi Plc has adjusted upwards the prices of sugar effective Friday 21st October, 2022.

According to the new prices, a 1 kilogramme packet is now K1,500 from Mk1,195.00 and a 500gram packet now is selling at MK850.00.

This has been confirmed in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

In the statement, Illovo Sugar Company has attributed the rise to the recent devaluation of the kwacha by the Tonse Alliance government.
