Anti-Chakwera demonstrations underway in Lilongwe

Protesters led by Joshua Chisa Mbele of Citizen Against Impunity have started marching Lilongwe Community Centre ground in Lilongwe heading to Kamuzu Palace to present a petition to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
Speaking before departure, Chisa Mbele said that the group will camp outside Kamuzu Palace in the Capital City while waiting for President Lazarus Chakwera who is away in Mzuzu.
He also appealed to protesters to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner.
There is tight security as armed police officers are all over the streets.
