Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that some protesters have turned violent in the capital Lilongwe and they are now looting shops along the Chilambula Highway opposite Road Traffic Regional offices.

According to our source, the protesters pelted stones on shops and forcefully taking away chips which some vendors were selling.

This is so despite a plea by the lead organizer Joshua Chisa Mbele appealing to protesters to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner.
