Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 15 year old girl for allegedly killing her one month old baby by hitting it with a stone on the head.
Lilongwe police publicist Hastings Chigalu has confirmed of the development.
According to Chigalu, the 15 year old is in police custody.
Reports indicate the girl was made pregnant by a fellow teenager.
Chigalu said the teen mother has been nursing the baby all alone, without the father’s support.
Members of the community rushed the baby to Mbavi Health Centre where it was established that death was due to severe head injuries.
