Maritzburg United will part ways with John Maduka following the latest string of poor results, reports say.
The Team of Choice have fallen to 16th on the log after failing to win any of their last six matches, with the 5-0 thumping by Mamelodi Sundowns and a 2-0 against Golden Arrows ahead of the FIFA World Cup break the latest low points.
As a consequence, the club have made the decision to relive Maduka of his duties despite being just 13 games in charge, sources have told iDiski Times.
This publication understands Maduka informed the players of the club’s decision to part ways on Monday.
When contacted for comment chairman Farook Kadodia told iDiski Times on Monday that the club would announce their decision on the technical team on Wednesday.
Out of the 13 games under Maduka, Maritzburg won just two, drawing five and losing six – with four of those defeats coming in the last six matches.
Maduka had joined the club in the beginning of the season after parting ways with Royal AM.
He replaced Ernst Middendorp, who was let go by the Team of the Choice because they wanted to enter higher spheres on the log and not fight against relegation again.
