Demonstrations aimed at forcing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of Tonse Alliance to resign have been cancelled at the 11th hour in the evergreen city of Mzuzu.
Lead organizer Gomezgani Nkhoma has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
Nkhoma said the move has been necessitated to give team leader Joshua Chisa Mbele to recover from the assault he suffered at the hands of the law enforcers in the capital Lilongwe.
He has since said new dates for the demonstrations will be announced soon.
Chisa Mbele was released on Tuesday from police cell.
