The Action Against Impunity has cancelled today’s demonstrations aimed at forcing President Lazarus Chakwera to step down for allegedly failing to economic challenges Malawians are facing.
Confirming the development, Gomegzani Nkhoma, lead organizer for Mzuzu demonstrations said the move has been necessitated to give team leader Joshua Chisa Mbele to get back to his feet, after being released on bail following his arrest after a violent protest in Lilongwe.
Nkhoma has however condemned the arrest of the social media influencer and his colleagues by government.
He has added that new dates for the protests will be announced in the soonest time as possible.
