A 35-year-old man has been arrested by Chikwawa police after murdering his parents over allegations of practicing witchcraft.
Chikwawa Police spokesperson Dickson Matemba has identified the suspect as Patrick Matchado and the deceased as Frank Matchado, 56, and Nakiyera Chinkobwe, 53, both from Kadulira Village Traditional Authority Ngabu.
Matchado allegedly stormed into his parents house on the night of October 24, 2022 accusing them of bewitching his two children and brother who died sometime back.
“He stabbed both of them with a knife and immediately escaped; leaving them dead and their bodies were found dead in the following morning,” Matemba said.
Matchado has been charged with murder and will appear in court soon to answer the charge.
