President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has received praises from Malawians for offering a helping hand to a physically challenged student from Henry Henderson School of Excellence.

Before officially opening the Henry Henderson School of Excellence this morning Chakwera was spotted interacting with Callista Mdumuka, a physically challenged student who uses a wheelchair.

The President was later seen manually propelling her wheelchair upstairs to her classroom. Mdumuka could not hide her excitement seeing Chakwera offering her a helping hand.

The picture has attracted praises from Malawians on social media.

Dennis Kalima wrote: “Eish we blame Chakwera for not fulfilling most of his campaign promises to Malawians but this man makes my heart happy because of his humility. He is so kind.”

Concurring with Kalima’s remarks Don Marx wrote: “Thank you Mr. President for this exemplary gesture.”
