Information reaching this publication indicates that the former minister of Agriculture Lobin Lowe is today expected to appear before a joint Parliamentary Committee inquiring into stolen Affordable Input Programme (AIP) funds.
Lowe and his deputy Madalitso Wilima were fired last week by president Lazarus Chakwera following mismanagement of this year’s AIP that also led to Malawi being duped K750 million.
So far, the committee has met Smallholder Farmers Fertilizer Revolving Fund of Malawi -SFFRFM Board and secretariat, PPDA, Principal Secretary in the ministry of Agriculture responsible for technical services Medrina Mloza Banda and the fired secretary for Agriculture Sandram Maweru.
