Police in Dowa have arrested a 22-year-old woman identified as Chikondi Chinyama for allegedly killing her two year-old daughter.
Dowa Police Spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha, has confirmed of the in an interview with the press.
According to M’bumpha,the incident happened on Thursday at Mikolo Village around 6 O’cklock this evening in T/A Msakambewa’s area in the district.
M’bumpha has told the press that at the time, the suspect had bathed the baby and ordered her to go to her grand mum’s house but upon realizing that the baby had defied the advice, she allegedly got furious and assaulted her to death before dumping her body at one of the graveyards in the village.
He said some eye witnesses reported the matter to police who managed to apprehend the suspect.
