The family of a slain business man of Rwandan origin has come out accusing some police officers of shielding suspects in the murder of their relative and attempting to suppress the course of justice in the matter.
These are family members of Halimana Noel, whose demise was first reported as an accident on 17 October 2022, at Kanengo, but there were two conflicting postmortem results from two different pathologists all from Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in Lilongwe.
National police spokesperson, Supt. Peter Kalaya has assured the family that, “police are treating this matter professionally, and that, they will not cower to any external influences to shape the course of the investigation and its outcome”.
Supt. Kalaya has also disclosed that, “KCH has finally released a consolidated autopsy report from which our investigators will draw leads to pursue this murder case”.
