Police in Mangochi have put in intensive measures to ensure that human trafficking cases are minimized as festive season approaches.

This has been confirmed by Mangochi Police publicist Amina Tepani Daudi.

Among others, Tepani has said that the police have erected and arranged intensive boarder patrols.

Tepani acknowledged that human trafficking cases were worse in the past years, because traffickers tend to use unchartered routes entering the neighboring Mozambique.

Since January this year, the district has recorded only two cases and that all the suspects were brought to book.
