A fuel tanker belonging to a Petroda Malawi Limited has been involved in an accident along the Chikwawa Road near Milare Police Station in Blantyre.
It is said that the driver lost control of the vehicle due to what an eyewitness suspect to be over speeding.
Due to the accident, the tank started leaking fuel uncontrollably.
Looters were seen scrambling for the fuel which is currently in short supply in the country as motorists spend days on pump station.
The law enforcers have since rushed to the scene.
