President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia has signed an order that Soldiers who go for peace keeping be getting all of their money than what happened in the past where soldiers would get 50% and the remaining 50% would go to the state.
This came into effect on 4th November, 2022 as promised in his campaign.
“Previously, Zambia Defence Forces on United Nations and other peace operations got 50 percent of their allowances, with the other 50 percent going to the government and while in opposition, we said this practice was very unfair to our hardworking men and women in uniform who deligently represent our country in these operations,” Hichilema said.
