Limbe Senior Resident Magistrate Court has sentenced 25-year-old Ganizani Kamuna and 20-year-old Peter Welosi to 20 year’s imprisonment for breaking into a house, injuring family members and stealing items worth K1.9 million.

In his submission, Sub Inspector Armson Joseph asked the court for a stiff sentence saying the two are a great threat to the society since they injured the victims of the same family and also wanted to steal a 10- month-old baby.

Joseph further said such cases are currently common hence a stiff sentence was ideal.

The two pleaded guilty to the charges, and in mitigation they both pleaded with the court for leniency saying they are breadwinners for their respective families.

Ganizani Kamuna hails from Nang’ombe village Traditional Authority Chimaliro while Peter Welosi hails from Lolo Village Traditional Authority Naseta both in Thyolo District.
