The fire that gutted a paying Out Patient Department structure at Chikwawa District Hospital on November 8, 2022 damaged medical equipment worthy k28million.
Director of Health and Social Services, Dr Stalin Zinkanda said the value excludes the actual structure whose cost assessment is still under way.
Investigations on the cause of the inferno are ongoing and the police will announce after the investigations.
According to Zinkanda, before the accident there were sparks on ESCOM lines near the place.
