Police in Ndirande are keeping in custody a criminal who was bailed in the year 2020 but still causing chaos with a series of robberies and breaking offences in Ndirande and surrounding townships with his accomplices.

Ndirande Police Station Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sub Inspector, Widson Nhlane identified the criminal as Paul Patula aged 20, who has been hiding at Gamulani location within the township and  was arrested on November 15, 2022.

According to Nhlane, hiding criminals in the communities is one of the factor that is increasing criminal rate in the communities.

Nhlane said the public should always inform the Police on wanted criminals.

Patula confessed that he did a number of robberies and breakings in Chirimba, Mbayani and Machinjiri and he is hiding some stolen items valued k600,000 which includes plasma television, decoders, home theater, laptop and wall clocks.

Former Chairperson for Chinseu Neighborhood Watch, Peter Buluzi said the communities should help in fighting crimes together with the police.

“It is important for the community members to report to the police if they come across any suspected criminal instead of hiding them.” He said
