The National Planning Commission has awarded former president Joyce Banda with a certificate of recognition as an Inter-generational Development Champion yesterday for fulfilling her missions.

According to the statement, Banda thanked National Planning Commission for the award and she has committed to help Malawians in achieving Agenda 2063.

“In my 40years of service, I have received numerous awards including several honorary doctorates, but none beats recognition from your own country.  I accepted this honor with humility.”

At the same event, the Joyce Banda Foundation also signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with WealthNet.

“We seek to provide financial inclusion opportunities to our 750,000 members through WealthNet just like we provide digital inclusion to our members through our partnership with TNM.” Said Banda in the statement.

From the 750, 000 members, the national movement has decided that every woman will plant ten trees making it 7 million trees.

Banda has also advised women and men to of goodwill in the communities working with women in their small business to value their time, TNM and WealthNet will help them in making profit.
