Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS) has today launched a 206 million kwacha Cholera Response intervention with the funding from Danish Red Cross targeting 9 districts.
Speaking at the function in Mangochi, MRCS Community Health Officer Francis Liyati said excluding Mangochi, other nine districts will benefit from the 5 months project.
“The five months project includes Karonga, Rumphi, Mzuzu, Nkhotakota, Nkhatabay, Blantyre, Mangochi, Chikwawa and Mwanza.” He said
Director of Health and Social Services in Mangochi Dr. Henry Chibowa Junior said the district has registered over 1500 cases and 33 deaths.
