The office of the Ombudsman has said it is yet to receive the official communication from the board of National Oil Company (NOCMA) Limited on the firing of its former deputy chief executive officer Hellen Buluma.

Last week, the board of NOMA said they had fired Buluma following a recommendation by the Ombudsman Grace Malera which found Buluma’s recruitment as unprocedural.

The letter of Buluma’s firing came hours after social media was flooded with Buluma’s resignation letter in which she spilled the beans on fraud activities allegedly taking place at NOCMA.

Appearing before the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament, officials from the office of Ombudsman revealed that they have not received the official communication from NOCMA board that they have finally acted in line with the Ombudsman’s report.

Initially, the board chairperson of NOCMA, Collen Zamba defied the recommendation by Malera to fire Buluma.
