Business came to a standstill at Kamalambo Primary School at Jenda in Mzimba on Thursday as learners chased health officers who wanted to administer Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to pupils aged 12-above.
The health workers were rescued by the law enforcers who rushed to the scene after being tipped of the chaotic scenes.
Jenda Hospital-In-Charge, Simione Mwale described the incident as unfortunate.
“It’s pathetic that our workers were chased away. The vehicle has been stoned, not a good development in as far as the fight against Covid-19 pandemic is concerned,” said Mwale.
School management is yet to comment on the matter.
