Total Land Care and its partners have today launched the Sustainable Management of Landscapes (SAMALA) project which will benefit 25000 people in four districts.

The projects aims at contributing to the restoration of degraded landscapes to improve livelihoods of communities.

The project is being funded by Flanders government and the Irish Embassy with an amount of €4.7 million.

Districts in Malawi that are to benefit includes Mzimba, Kasungu, Ntchisi and Dowa.

The project will promote catchment management to sustain land productivity through participatory management of forests by communities.
