Police in Chikwawa have arrested two men for allegedly killing an eight-year-old boy.

The suspects have been identified as Ekison Bima, 20 and Jestadi Tipa, 33, all from Masanduko Village Traditional Authority Ngabu in Chikwawa.

The deceased is identified as Marko Chagaga from the same village.

The suspects committed the offence on 26 November 2022.

Police publicist for Chikwawa, Dickson Matemba, said the duo convinced the boy to accompany them to a certain bush to fetch firewood where they ended up killing him. Police say well-wishers tipped Chiromo Police that Bima was offering for sale a human head, and this led to his arrest and later the arrest of his accomplice at Ngabu.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been exhumed and identified by the deceased’s relations.

The two suspects have been charged with murder and will be taken to court when investigations are completed.
