The Malawi Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRD) has organised a solidarity march to call for attention of authorities on struggles which women activists face in the country.
The activity is part of the 16 days of activism in which the country and the whole world at large is observing with the theme ‘Unite! Activism to End Violence Against Women and Girls.
Esther Bonyonga, one of the activists said Women HRDs will have the solidarity march in Lilongwe, where they expect to deliver petition on issues affecting them in their line of duty as well as increase visibility and recognition of the Women HRDs, to the Parliamentary Women Caucus Committee.
The solidarity march will take place on Wednesday November 30, 2022 in Lilongwe with the aim of cerebrating and thanking women who defended human rights in the country.
