Former senior Member of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Chatinkha Chizanja Nkhoma has turn down a request from her followers asking her to resign from front-line politics citing old age
The call follows her continuous attack on President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s leadership style and the entire MCP.
writing on his official facebook page Chizanja Nkhoma said President Chakwera is older than her hence no need for her to resign from frontline politics.
“When I post something I get some people come to my inbox akuti “mwakula siyani za ndale”. First of all our president is older than me, second I post or comment because MCP is my party and I get irked when they are making blunders.
“Thirdly I don’t post for my benefits because truth be told I can remain quite and continue living the good life while the masses suffer. And if I really wanted I could just as simply join the government bandwagon and eat from it. So its your choice….you want me quiet, I will end my old age,” wrote Chizanja Nkhoma.
Chatinkha Chizanja Nkhoma resigned from MCP ahead of the 2019 Presidential polls. Her resignation attracted backlash as she was spotted in a video burning MCP regalia.
