Inmates fault authorities on rights violations at Nkhotakota prison

Authorities at Nkhotakota prison are being accused of violating human rights of prisoners at the facility.

The revelation was made yesterday during the commemoration of human rights day.

Speaking on behalf of his fellow inmates, Jonathan Phiri said they are eating once a day contrary to the three meal a day rule.

General Duties Officer at the facility, Inspector Raphael Banda while confirming the situation, said financial challenges are highly contributing to the situation.
