Information reaching this publication indicates that Dr. Valentino Zimpita has been appointed as Acting Executive Director for the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) following the expiry of the tenure of Dr. Ambumulire Phiri.
Phiri has confirmed of the development in a MEMO addressed the members of staff seen by this publication.
“Time has come to say goodbye. I shall be concluding my services at NCHE in the next few days. I have enjoyed immensely the opportunity to serve the higher education family while at NCHE for the past three years. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
“I also wish to take this opportunity to announce that Dr Valentino Zimpita has been appointed to lead the NCHE during the Interim period. A formal communication from the Council will be sent out in due course,” wrote Phiri.
Phiri has since congratulated Dr. Zimpita for his new role.
