Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVETA) has expressed happiness over the increase of number of girls participating in male dominated fields.

This was said during the graduation of 18 apprentices in Mzimba.

TEVETA Director of Training Programmes, Modesto Gomani said girls are now breaking gender disparities in skilled work.

Mzuzu Diocese Vicar General, Monsignor Andrew Chunda hailed TEVETA for spearheading programs contributing to the availability of skilled labourers, even in remote areas.

The girls participating in male dominated fields have undergone 10-month bricklaying training at St Monica Catholic Church at Embangweni in Mzimba district.
