Mwenifumbo was speaking this in Lilongwe during the launch of the 2022 Global Hunger Index which indicates that Malawi is facing hunger crisis.

According to Mwenifumbo, Malawi will continue facing hunger despite having the 10 percent from the national budget in the Ministry of Agriculture.

In addition to that, some panelists at the launch have accused the application of Affordable Inputs Program (AIP) that it is not helping Malawians become food secure.
