Senior Resident Magistrate Assunta Maxwell adjourned to 30 January 2023 a case in which the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is accusing former Thyolo District Commissioner (DC) Justine Kathumba of selling the council’s land at Bvumbwe trading centre in Thyolo.
According court records, Magistrate Maxwell has adjourned the case which was expected to continue on Thursday following a prayer by the graft busting body (ACB) on the same.
ACB and defence lawyers were not immediately available for comment.
Kathumba who is on court bail was arrested on 25 October 2022 for allegedly selling the council’s land to two individuals without advertising to the public at K10 million each.
