President Lazarus Chakwera and President of Mozambique Filipe Nyusi have agreed on projects and programs concerning socioeconomic development between the two countries.
This happened during the Official opening ceremony of the 10th edition of the African Union Region 5 Youth Games taking place in Lilongwe.
According to President Chakwera, the two agreed to continue consolidating joint cooperation of things in different sectors like; trade, security, transport, energy as well as diplomacy.
In April this year, President Chakwera had a 4 days visit to Mozambique where he discussed several things with President of Mozambique that were important to the development and progress of the two countries.
“The highlights of our journey were the launch of the Mozambique and Malawi interconnector projects, inspection of Nacala Port, bilateral talks on trade and investment and official opening of the Malawi-Mozambique Business Forum between our private sector stakeholders”, said Chakwera.
In addition, President Chakwera signed the three major agreements of; the Nacala Development Corridor (NDC), the Railway Agreement and the Road Transport Agreement.
