The Malawi African Spelling Bee contestants who are still in camp at Hapuwani Lodge in Mulanje courtesy of World Vision International has promised the country that they will win the championship in the competition of African Spelling Bee.

The contest will take place on 8th and 9th December, 2022 at Golden Peacock Hotel in Blantyre.

According to Lewis Mbaula, founder of Malawi National Spelling Bee, having supported the Malawi National Spelling Bee which is doing wonders in terms of promoting reading and writing culture, the government and World Vision is also supporting the African Spelling Bee.

In 2019, World Vision Malawi also sent three learners to participate in the African Spelling Bee in Uganda.

This initiative was undertaken to help African school children learn better and the ultimate goal of this was to achieve the overall development of their youth and shape them as citizens who can pass on certain values to the society.
