President Lazarus Chakwera has said he would like to see an inquiry into the arrest of ACB Director General Martha Chizuma.

Chakwera was speaking this morning at Kamuzu Palace during a National Integrity Committee Meeting.

Chakwera said any wrongdoers who have abused their office in this incident should be held accountable.

“We must maintain our resolve and send a message to those who think they can intimidate us into submission and slow us down in our fight for a corruption-free Malawi. And that message is simple: We are not afraid and we will not stop fighting,” Chakwera said.

Meanwhile, President Chakwera has since suspended Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Steven Kayuni.

Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Titus Mvalo announced this in Parliament.
