President Lazarus Chakwera has urged the newly appointed judges to give citizens who cry for justice the required justice.

Chakwera was speaking this today during the swearing-in ceremony of four High Court judges at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.

Chakwera asked the new judge to uphold the values of cast in the Rule of Law.

“As for you the newly appointed judges, you must remember that this opportunity is in your hands, to give citizens who cry for justice the confidence that their search for equity is not in vain”, said Chakwera.

“You must remember to give citizens who cry for justice the confidence that to stand in your court is to stand in the presence of God himself where righteousness and justice are executed swiftly, fairly and transparently”, Chakwera continued.

Chakwera continued that his administration remains committed to advancing the cause of justice through capacity building of judiciary in collaboration with key judicial stakeholders

The newly appointed judges were; Justice Mr. Haward Brighton Pemba, Justice Mr. Allan Hanz Mhome, Justice Mrs. Eda Edai Ngwira and Justice Mrs. Witness Chanza.

The four have been added to the number of already existing judges, to assist in speeding up justice cases in the country as well as improving women empowerment following the appointment of two female judges.
