President Lazarus Chakwera held a meeting with World Bank Group’s Country Director for Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe, Mr. Nathan Belete.
The meeting took place yesterday at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.
According to Chakwera, the visit of Belete was to discuss and update him on number of important issues on the country’s economic recovery and growth efforts.
President Chakwera said “Mr. Belete is in Malawi to engage government officials and key stakeholders on how best the World Bank Group can support our economic recovery and growth efforts. He has also witnessed the launch of the 16th Malawi Economic Monitor on Advancing Economic Stability and Agricultural Commercialization.”
The two agreed to reinforce engagements on priority areas regarding Malawi’s long term blueprints development projects.
“During our deliberations, we agreed to reinforce engagement on priority areas and align our joint efforts around Malawi’s multi-term development blueprints; three-year Social Economic Recovery Plan (SERP), MW2063 First 10-Year Implementation Plan (MIP-1) and the Malawi Vision 2063 generally.” Reads the statement.
