Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma has warned some top officials in Tonse Alliance government to desist from corruption malpractices, saying once found they will face the law.
Chizuma said this in Kasungu during an event marking International Anti-Corruption Day where President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is the guest of hnonour.
In her speech, Chizuma warned corrupt individuals in the country that they will answer to the law regardless of their status in society.
This is the first time the head of the country’s graft-busting institution has spoken publicly after her controversial arrest on Tuesday this week.
Her arrest attracted public attention both locally and internationally.
Meanwhile, her charges have been dropped unconditionally as announced in Parliament by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Titus Mvalo.
