The Outreach Scout Foundation as part of the Universal Health Coverage Coalition (UHCC) has today established that half of the country’s households (52.3%) do not have adequate health care.

This is contained in a study that assessed the Impact of Stalled and Unopened health facilities on communities.

According to UHCC Chairperson, George Jobe, in seven districts where the study was conducted, most unfinished and stalled facilities had different ownership status.

On average, the study shows that people in catchment areas where health facilities stalled travel 24.6KM to get to the nearest health facility.

The UHC give individuals and communities e the health services they need without suffering financial hardship.

It includes the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course.
