A Zimbabwean woman has been arrested after she was bust for hiring cars and then going on to sell them.

Her modus operandi was unearthed leading to her subsequent arrest. She did her shenanigans in Harare.

Tsitsi Zata, 26, of Mainway Meadows, ran out of luck after the car rental firms used one of the vehicles’ tracking system and found out that it had been at a car sale from the time it was hired out.

Zara was convicted for the theft of two vehicles worth a combined value of US$18 000.

It is reported that she hired the first car from a car rental company in Harare. She went on to sell the car at a car sale.

It is reported she went on to hire another car and she reported it stolen.

The car rental company then used a tracker and the car was discovered at a car sale company. It had already been sold.

Detectives from CID Vehicle Theft Squad Harare, got wind of the whereabouts of the accused person and reacted to the information, leading to her arrest.

She is set to appear in court soon.
