Some HIV positive people have this tendency of thinking that it does not matter how they behave because they are already HIV positive that is completely wrong.

Being HIV positive doesn’t mean you should stop protecting yourself from viruses and diseases.

You really need to red this at home If you are HIV positive. Reading this will help you a lot, there are two things I would like to warn you from today, please try to read until the end.

I would like to make it clear that this piece is not only for HIV positive people but for all people.

You can continue reading even if you are negative. This will help to increase awareness and take care of yourself.

Here are the two things to avoid doing if you have found out that you are HIV positive:

  1. Sleeping around

Some people have a tendency of sleeping around with hope of spreading the virus after finding out that they have HIV.

Getting other people infected will not do you any good but will worsen the situation.

There is a chance that one day you will get involved with someone who is also HIV positive but has a different strain of the virus, that’s where the danger starts.

This can be a problem if one person’s strain is resistant to particular antiretroviral and has been passed on to you.

  1. Drug abuse

“Drug abuse or substance abuse refers to the use of certain chemicals for the purpose of creating pleasurable effects on the brain.”

Drug abuse is usually the reason why some HIV positive people default on treatment. Some people get drunk or high in such a way that they even forget where they were or who they were with, this also makes it hard to remember to take ARVs.

Defaulting on treatment usually leads to sickness because you are no-longer taking drugs to stop the virus from multiplying in your body. The more the virus multiplies, the greater the chances of getting ill.

Please note that this doesn’t necessarily mean that an HIV positive person should not have fun, we all want happiness in our lives. If you are an alcohol person, drink responsibly.

Thank you for your time, I hope you will enjoy the rest of your day.
