One person has died in a road accident at Nthandizi along Phalombe-Migowi road last night while another person sustained injuries.
The accident happened after a motorcycle they were riding collided with a Volkswagen salon vehicle.
The deceased has been identified as Petrol Matias aged 37.
District’s police spokesperson, Jimmy Kapanja said the deceased was allegedly over speeding and entered in a wrong lane in the process and collided with an oncoming vehicle registration number BX9335.
According to Kapanja, Matias has died due to head injuries and the injured person is admitted to Phalombe district hospital.
Matias hailed from Khanaja Village, Traditional Authority-TA Kaledzera in Phalombe.
