Police in Dowa have arrested a 22-year-old convict on allegation that he sodomised a 16-year-old fellow convict.
Yohane Afera is alleged to have sodomised a fellow convict (name withheld) during the night of December 14 to December 15 2022 at Bzyanzi Reformatory Centre in Dowa District.
On the days in mention, the victim was sleeping in the same place with the suspect and found Afera in the act of sodomising him.
A report on the matter reached prison authorities and both were taken to Dowa District Hospital where it was confirmed that the victim was indeed sodomised.
The suspect has been cautioned and charged with sodomy.
Yohane Afera, who comes from Phamba Village in Traditional Authority Ndindi in Salima District, will appear before court soon to answer another charge of sodomy.
