Good Neighbors International has promised to support education in some primary and secondary schools in Kasungu District.
This was mentioned during the child rights awareness campaign yesterday at Malaya Primary School in Chitenje Zone in the area of Sub-Traditional Authority Chambwe in the district.
Good Neighbors International country director Gyo Joo said the aim is to raise the well-being of children.
He added that they will not rest in providing support like constructing conducive school blocks, teachers’ houses, changing rooms for girls and also sensitizing parents and guardians the need to educate their children.
“We will continue to support education until we see that children’s rights in schools and homes are respected and that every child is attending school. We will see that vulnerable girls in our communities are not abused,” said Joo
Director of Education, Youth and Sports for Kasungu District Dorothy Masudi commended the NGO for supporting schools and promoting education in the district.
“I am very happy and thankful for the support that Good Neighbors International Malawi has been giving us, these child rights awareness campaigns are very important as they educate some parents and guardians who are still ignorant about children rights and how education can contribute in developing their community,” Masudi said.
Masudi asked other well wishers to join Good Neighbors International in supporting education in the district as most of primary schools have few learning materials and good class blocks.
Good Neighbors International is conducting the child rights awareness campaigns under the theme ‘Education for all’
