President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to return home today from United States of America where he attended the ‘US-Africa Leaders’ summit.

Ministry of Foreign affairs has confirmed in a statement seen by this publication saying Chakwera is scheduled to arrive at 13; 35 hours through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA).

Chakwera left the country last week for Washington DC in America alongside other 48 heads of state from Africa for the meeting.

Among others the meeting focused on how US trade and investment inflows into Africa in general and Malawi, in particular, should be facilitated going forward within the new parameters of the AfCFTA.

During his official trip to the USA, President Chakwera spoke alongside 48 other African Heads of State about While in America the Malawi leader held discussions with the World Bank officials and the bank has pledged resumption of direct budgetary support commencing with the disbursement of over K51 billion.
