Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that Reverend Billy Gama who is also General Secretary for Blantyre Synod has turned down his appointment as a board chairperson for Lilongwe Water Board.

Gama’s rejection comes barely a month after he publicly requested President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to consider appointing him as board member of the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA).

Speaking in an interview with the press, Gama cited busy scheduled as the main reason.

“Blantyre Synod has a radio station and it could be a conflict of interest for me to be a board chairperson of MACRA,” he said.

Commenting on his job request he made a month ago, Gama said it was just a joke.

Meanwhile, Chakwera is yet to comment on the matter.
