Minister of Natural Resources and Climate change, Eisenhower Mkaka has said government is planning on increasing the survival rates of planted trees from 65 percent to 85 percent tree planting season.
The Minister said this today in Lilongwe that the country targeted to restore 29,000 hectares of land by planting over 50 million trees this season.
According to reports, last year the country planted 54 million trees from the targeted 40 million trees.
He then said President Lazarus Chakwera is going to launch this year’s tree planting season in Mangochi on December 23rd, 2022.
