A 20-year-old woman of Soweto Township in Kapiri-Mposhi has died whilst being prayed for by an Evangelist of United Apostolic Meyu Urishi Church.

Eness Mulambya is believed to have collapsed when Evangelist Advent Njovu was praying for her and her body was also found with burns on both hands and the cheeks.

The victim was taken for prayers after her mother noticed unusual hallucinations for about three days and the Evangelist administered some salty solution which led to her collapsing.

Central Province Commissioner David Chileshe who confirmed the incident to Mwebantu said the incident occurred on Saturday at around 23:00 hours.

“It is alleged that the Evangelist administered some salty solution on the deceased as she was being prayed for when she collapsed and died. The deceased was taken for prayers after the mother identified an unusual hallucination behavior in her for about three days. The body was found with burns on both hands and one cheek. The Evangelist was detained facing manslaughter charges and the body of the deceased is lying in Kapiri Mposhi Urban clinic mortuary awaiting postmortem,” he said.
