Three people have died in separate road accidents in NKhatabay which occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Nkhata-Bay police spokesperson, Kondwani James only identified two of the deceased as Sankhani Chimbwaya aged 32 and Famous Banda aged 84.
According to James, Chimbwaya died after being hit by a Toyota Noah registration number NB8226 which was being driven by Jimmy Chiphwanya at Tukombo Trading Centre, Banda died after being run over by a motorcycle as he slept along the Nkhata bay – Chikale road allegedly due to drunkenness.
The unidentified pedestrian who was drunk, died on the spot after being run over by an unknown vehicle at Vizara Rubber Plantation.
The three died from head injuries sustained during the accident.
James said police have arrested Chiphwanya and the motorcycle rider over the accidents.
