The remains of veteran photographer Dickie Mlazie has been laid to rest yesterday at Ngumbe in Blantyre.

Milanzi died last week after battling with cancer.

Milanzi worked as a photographer in the civil service and for private media houses including Times Group.

Writing on his official Facebook page government spokesperson Gospel Kazako described Milanzi as the father of a father of photo-journalism in Malawi.

“The media fraternity has today lost an icon. We have lost Uncle Dickie Milanzi whom I wouldn’t hesitate to call the father of photo-journalism in Malawi,” said Kazako.

He died on December 16, 2022.
